WELCOME! WELCOME! I am so glad that we are resuming our public Masses this Pentecost weekend. I am excited to see all of you at Mass!!!!! Live streaming the Mass is great in an emergency, but should never be seen as just as good as attending Mass when one is capable of attending. Of course, the Obligation to attend Mass on Sunday is still suspended until we are assured that the COVID-10 virus is under control. If you are sick, stay home. If you are fearful of catching it at Mass or in our church building, stay home. One option, in lieu of Sunday Mass with its larger crowds is to attend a weekday Mass at 9 AM. We are having our daily Mass in the main church for people to spread out. You might consider that if you are too anxious to attend Sunday Mass. You received the bulletin when you entered. We have removed the hymnals from the pews. Thus, the music for the processional and recessional hymns are in the bulletin. So, you will need the bulletin to sing these hymns. PLEASE TAKE YOUR BULLETIN HOME, WE CANNOT RESUE YOUR BULLETIN!!!!! At Communion time, please be sure to receive correctly in the hand, NO IM- PROVISING!!! Place your dominant hand directly under your other hand and keep the palm of your hand FLAT. This allows the minister of Holy Communion to place the host on the flattened palm without touching your hand or palm. Don t move your hands too quickly. When receiving on the tongue, tilt your head back slightly, extend your tongue slightly and keep your head still. If the minister of Holy Communion inadvertently touches tongue or hand, there is a vessel of rubbing alcohol he will use to sanitize his fingers before the next communicant. Please maintain 6 feet physical distancing in the pews and in line, except for family/friend units. Wearing a mask during Mass is recommended but not required, just be aware of others and consider them. Have a handkerchief available to catch any sneezes or coughs. These can freak others out in this pandemic. Today is the birthday of the Church, Pentecost. The Holy Spirit is poured out on the apostles and all who are baptized and confirmed in the Catholic Faith. Jesus is with us even when Mass is not possible. But we need the Sacraments of the Church. We need the obligation to attend Sunday Mass and Holy Days of Obligation, we need each other to allow the Holy Spirit to sustain us in our Catholic Faith and Good Works, but of which are necessary for salvation, eternal life in heaven. I am so glad of my Catholic Faith. I wonder, too, if I catch COVID-19 and don t make it, how would I react. My Catholic Faith, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, tells me that if I live and die in the Lord, I will go to heaven. What a great comfort in times of pandemic, war and other causes of death! We need God to save us and He Has! Alleluia! God bless you. Your pastor, 2
